About

Our founder, Megan Tagliaferri, built Compound with a seed grant that allowed us to establish our site and programming, and she continues to generously champion Compound’s activities as Chair of our Board. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit we raise more than 60% of our operating budget through grants and individual giving. We depend on the generosity of our community  in order to offer free and accessible sliding scale programs to all!

Yes, Compound is available for private bookings, including corporate retreats, birthdays, and other celebrations. Please contact our events manager at events@compoundlb.org to discuss availability, pricing, and any specific requirements you may have.

Compound temporarily closed its public operations in September 2022 due to the challenges brought on by the global pandemic. During the closure we were proud to operate as an incubator for artist projects that have since toured the world globally, including one of our favorite artist collaboratives, Chromasonic. In 2024, with renewed energy and focus we launched our new restaurant with a revitalizing menu, and expanded our art, wellness, and cultural offerings

Yes! Our parking lot is located at 1326 Obispo Avenue, around the corner from Compound’s creative campus. Parking is $5 per day for Compound visitors and revenue supports our nonprofit offerings. Rideshare and public transit are always encouraged.

The best way to stay updated is to follow us on our social media channels and sign up for our newsletter through our website. We regularly post about upcoming events, new menu items, and featured art installations.

We are always eager to collaborate with local artists. Whether you’re interested in displaying your art, performing live, or hosting a workshop, we’d love to hear from you.

Please reach out via our website or social media channels to discuss potential opportunities.
